This year i will be speaking on the Belgian version of SharePoint Saturday 2014. My session will be about the new and enhanced search in SharePoint 2013. This wil be my first session on an BIWUG event and i am looking forward to it. Lets hope I don’t let people down. The only downside to it is that i will be missing somebody else’s session. My session is mainly targeted towards developers and technical people, but hopefully there’s something in it for anyone wanting to learn about Search. This is my session abstract. The Gears that make the search go round. Everybody heard about that huge bird - that screams ‘FAST search in SharePoint 2013!’. SharePoint internet fora and blogs are all about the new display templates, content pane, query rules, etc. We experienced the improvements ourselves, but what did FAST change on the other end of the spectrum? What components are there? What information gets stored in the index database? How does SharePoint find my results so quickly? And more importantly, how can we make all of this work to our benefit?
